Jason Pettaway is a Titan walk-on who many feel will make
a major contribution to the program... Termed a "steal" by his high school
coach, Eric Bamberger, who predicts that "Jason will earn a scholarship before
he is done. He definitely has Div. I talent"... Very fluid player who appears
to glide down the court.
DEER VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year varsity letterman at
Deer Valley High School in Antioch, California... Over his last two seasons
he averaged 15 points in a balanced attack for the Wolverines... Team most
valuable player and captain all three seasons... First-team all-league and
all-metro as a senior... Won second-team all-league honors as a junior... Four-year
member of the Honor Roll... In the Safeway Charities All-Star Basketball Classic
at Diablo Valley College he scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the
East... Played shooting guard and small forward.

Parents are William and Sharon Pettaway of North Las Vegas, Nevada... Has a

beating powerhoue De La Salle High School, 38-37, in the playoffs during his
senior year... He also hit a last-second shot to give his team a victory...
