David Warsaw is in his second academic year in the Titan program after making
a January transfer last season from El Camino JC, where he was sitting out
his sophomore season... Will provide a talented backup to Zakee Smith at the
least.
EL CAMINO JC: Averaged 23 points for the Warriors during the 2001-02 season...
Shot 80 percent from the foul line... Had a high game of 40 points... Selected
the Most Valuable Player of the the Orange Coast College Tournament and made
the all-tourney teams at Pasadena City College and Santa Ana College.
WESTCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL: Outstanding player sometimes lost in the shuffle
of an outstanding program... As a senior was one of 10 future Div. I players
as Coach Ed Azzam's Comets won the Los Angeles City championship and were ranked
No. 4 in the nation... As a junior he averaged 18 points per game and won all-city
honors... Three-year letterman who also was selected most improved as a sophomore...
Also competed in track and field as a junior in the high jump and long jump.
PERSONAL: Born on Jan. 30, 1983, in Harbor City, California... Parents are
Sylvester and Carol Warsaw of Gardena... The youngest of 10 children... Communications
major whose goal is to become an agent for basketball players... Most memorable
sports thrill was winning the L.A. City championship and then averaging 23
points in junior college... Credits Coach Azzam for giving him the confidence
to believe he could play with anybody in the nation... Nickname is "Buckets." |
