Biography:
TITANS `06: Posted just a .224 batting average in his first season back from shoulder surgery that kept him out a good portion of the 2005 season • Started 36 games for the Titans (23 in leftfield replacing injured Danny Dorn, 11 in centerfield and two games as the designated hitter) • Entered 26 games as a sub to lead the team • Had three multi-hit games, the best of which was a season-best three-hit performance on Feb. 17 against UC Irvine • Drove in a season-high two runs on two occasions, one on Mar. 25 vs. Long Beach State, the other on May 7 at UC Santa Barbara • Had three outfield assists despite still recovering from surgery • Had a four-game hitting streak from Feb. 17 to Feb. 24 when he went 6-for-17 (.353). TITANS `05: Batted .500 (6-for-12) with a home run and two RBI in seven games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury sliding head-first into third base on Feb. 25 at UNLV • Made one appearance on the mound Feb. 6 vs. Stanford, giving up one hit in 2 innings of work, while striking out one • Was granted a redshirt season. TITANS `04: Was named a Freshman All-American by both Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America for his outstanding season • Played in 61 of the 69 games, and started 36 of the last 37, primarily in centerfield • Had 20 multiple-hit games, including two four-hit games within two days of each other at Pacific. In that series from Apr. 8 to Apr. 10 at Pacific, he hit a cool .714 (10-for-14) and scored 5 runs • Had an 11-game hitting streak from Apr. 4 - Apr. 24 that saw the Titans go 10-1 over that stretch • His .341 average was good for fourth on the team and 15th in the Big West Conference and his 73 hits placed him just outside the top 10 in the conference • Had 7 defensive assists from the outfield • Had nine multi-RBI games including May 9 vs. UC Riverside when he knocked in three • Was 5-for-10 (.500) and scored three runs in the Super Regionals held at Goodwin Field, eliminating Tulane and advancing the Titans to the College World Series • Was a first-team All-Big West selection • Made only five appearances on the mound • His best outing came on Apr. 20 vs. UCLA when he went two scoreless innings, striking out two Bruins in a losing effort. MISSION VIEJO HS: Lettered two years for Coach Chris Ashbach as a center fielder and pitcher • Earned first-team All-South Coast League honors as a junior after hitting .451 and stealing 15 bases • Hit .456 with 14 stolen bases his senior year and went 3-2 with a 3.05 ERA on the mound • Named second-team All-CIF, second-team All-Orange County and first-team all-league as a senior • Also earned two letters for CIF Division II football championship teams.
