| Freshman right-hander expected to immediately contribute for the Cardinal this season. 19th round draft pick of the Kansas City Royals out of high school, but instead elected to come to Stanford. Hardest thrower on the staff with a fastball that resides in the low 90's and can top out at 95 M.P.H. Excellent control and also throws a curve ball and change-up. Remarkably poised for a young pitcher. Will see significant innings as a freshman - even as a weekend starter. Was the top pitcher on the club during Fall Ball intrasquad games. Rated as 21st best freshman in the country by Baseball America prior to the start of the season. |
