Josh Shipp added 16 points, while Darren Collison contributed 15 points for
the Bruins (7-0), who remain undefeated this season. Lorenzo Mata scored nine
points and pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds.
Bobby Brown had a team-high 18 points for Cal-State Fullerton (5-2), which
was playing a No. 1 team for the first time since 1991. Scott Cutley added 11
points and Frank Robinson donated seven in the loss.
The Titans came out firing, opening the first half on a surprising 14-4 run.
Brown started the flurry with a jumper and capped the burst with a three-point
shot before the Bruins turned the momentum in their favor.
Afflalo's trey evened the score, 16-16, at 12:16 and Alfred Aboya followed
with a layup to give UCLA its first lead of the contest.
Brown made both shots from the charity stripe later in the half to make it
28-28, but the Bruins carried a 39-33 lead into the break.
The start of the second half was a reversal of the first, with UCLA going on
a 9-0 run. Collison made good on a trey, followed by two free throws and a layup.
The Titans pulled within six again on Marcus Crenshaw's three-pointer before
UCLA put the next nine points on the board for a 61-47 lead.
Fullerton made just two shots in the last six minutes of play and shot 38
percent from the floor overall (21-of-56).
