Ralphie Holmes |
6-3 |
Allan Hancock CC |
Slasher with 3 years of eligibility remaining.
Averaged a double-double (22 points, 10.1 rebounds) and was an All-Conference
selection only year at Allan Hancock CC. Also shot 51.2% from the field
on 262/512, 41.4% from 3-point range on 41/99. A shooting guard who can
bring the ball up the court. He has Pape-like talent and is probably the
best |
| Ronald Roundtree Power Forward Junior |
6-8 |
Riverside CC (Riverside, CA) Franklin High School Philadelphia, PA |
Orange Empire League Honorable Mention last season at Riverside CC. He's a big guy with a nice shooting touch. He averaged 15.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and shot 40.7% from 3-point land. He was also a 74% free throw shooter in college. [more stats] Projected starter at power forward or small forward. |
|
Zakee Smith |
5-11 165 |
Panola College (Carthage, TX) Franklin High School Philadelphia, PA |
Averaged 14.6 assists at Panola CC [Panola Stats]. Obviously an excellent ball handler, and an uncanny ability to spot the open man. Zakee was among the nations leaders in assists with a 14.58 average. He also averaged 13.4 points. [Game-by-game stats | Region XIV Stats] Projected starter at point guard. |
| Jamal Forcheney Power Forward Junior |
6-7 215 |
West Hills CC (Coalinga, CA) Prospect High School Brooklyn, NY |
First team All-Central Valley Conference selection. Forcheney made 161 field goals out of 239 attempted for a whopping 674 percent - the highest in the Central Valley Conference and his high game score was 30 points. He also had 30 blocks and 33 steals during the season. He averaged 14.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Will back up Roundtree but should see significant playing time |
| Franck Essis Wing Junior |
6-4 210 |
Chaffey College (Rancho Cucamonga) Brooklyn, NY |
Essis was recruited last year but needed to finish some additional units
before he could become eligible at CSF He
averaged nearly 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists per game at Chaffey
College. He was also listed as one of the Top
60 Junior College Sophomores by CNNSI.
|
| Bron Groomes Wing Junior |
6-7 210 |
San Bernardino Valley College Boys & Girls High School, Brooklyn, NY |
Played for Ruth Lovelace at Boys & Girls HS. Their nickname was the 'Kangaroos'. Found on the web: "Several New York-area players caught the eye of top JUCO scout Jerry Mullen at the San Bernardino (CA) Showcase on September 15. San Bernardino Valley also ended 3-0 and, according to Mullen, has an emerging big-time player in 6-7 Bron Groomes, whom he recalled as a freshman at South Plains (TX)." Other Links |
| Ronald Allen Power forward Prop 48 Freshman |
6-9 210 |
Artesia High School Lakewood, CA |
Will sit this coming year out as a Prop 48. Ronald is extremely athletic, and a prolific leaper who is not intimidated by older, more experienced players. He must sit out this coming year as a Prop 48, but we anticipate significant contributions from him in the 2003-2004 season.[More info on Allens verbal to CSF] California nominee for McDonalds All-American |
| Gary Holmes Wing |
6-6 205 |
San Bernardino Valley College Fontana HS |
Walk-on who shot .396 (40-101) from behind the 3-point arc last season, finishing 48th in the state. Initially signed with Eastern Washington and coach Steve Aggers (now at Loyola Marymount) but never played... He then played for North Idaho College in 1999-2000 before enrolling at San Bernardino College. Scouting report (From a search
on SoCalHoops): |
| Eric Alvarez Point Guard |
5-10 170 |
L.A. City College Compton Centennial HS |
Another walk-on first reported by Big
Allpe Sports. First team All-CIF-SS: Boys Division III-AA who could
help provide some much-needed depth at the point guard spot. |
TitanCentral.com Spin: Let's be honest, most quality (and eligible) high school players are not going to come to Cal State Fullerton until we start putting some wins up on the board, so getting kids from the jc ranks is extremely important. If all these kids are here on October 12th (first day of practice) this will be one of the best recruiting classes since the Richard Morton/Henry Turner era (I.e. a very long time ago). When all is said and done we could have four new faces in the starting lineup to compliment All Big West player Pape Sow. This is good news considering the Titans have won only 10 games in the last two years.
